Berlingo seat heater malfunction

Hi, I've got a 2004 Citroen Berlingo diesel with 203699 km. The seat heater isn't working. Neither side gets warm, and the error memory has a fault stored. I'm suspecting a defective seat heating mat. Anyone else had this issue? What could be other possible causes like a faulty temperature control or thermal sensor?

Hey! I had a similar issue with my Berlingo. Does the error message specify which seat has the problem? Have you checked the fuses related to the seat heating system? Could also be a broken wire under the seat; those things get a lot of wear and tear.

Thanks for the quick reply! The error message doesn't specify which seat, just says general seat heating malfunction. I did check the fuses; they seem fine. Could it really be a broken wire if both seats are affected? Seems like an odd coincidence.

Yeah, it's a bit strange both are out. When mine went, it only affected the driver's side. Considering the cost and complexity, maybe it's best to get it checked by a workshop? They can properly diagnose it before you start replacing parts.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop as you suggested. Turns out it was indeed the heating mat. The repair cost me around 390€. Appreciate the help!
