Berlingo Stalling After Fuel Filter Change

Alright Berlingo buddies, I'm at my wit's end! My 2022 Citroen Berlingo, gasoline engine, is giving me grief. Got 157472 km on the clock. The check engine light is mocking me, it stalls at idle like it's playing dead, and the engine power feels like it's gone on vacation. I recently changed the fuel filter, and I'm suspecting I screwed something up because shortly after I got an error. Could it be the fuel pressure regulator acting up? Any ideas? I'm pulling my hair out here!

I had similar symptoms on my Berlingo. Check the fuel rail pressure sensor; sometimes they get finicky after a filter change. A faulty sensor can cause rough idle and reduced power. Could also be a fuel pump issue not delivering enough pressure.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say similar symptoms, was it also stalling completely at idle? And did the check engine light come on immediately after your fuel filter change? Just trying to narrow down if it's the same gremlin!

Yes, it was stalling at idle and the light came on pretty quickly after the filter change, although not immediately. I would get it checked by someone with the proper diagnostic tools, as it could be a number of things, but it does sound like it could be related to the fuel system. The fuel pressure regulator is often the culprit.

Thanks a lot for the insight! That's exactly the push I needed. Turns out the fuel pressure regulator was indeed defective, probably triggered by the filter change messing with the fuel pressure. 45€ at the shop and it is working again!
