Berlingo Transmission Error
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Citroen Berlingo diesel is experiencing transmission issues, with the transmission indicator and check engine lights on, and the vehicle is in emergency mode with poor shifting, slipping, and grinding. The suspected cause is a radiator oil pressure issue, possibly due to a defective cable or plug connection. After taking the vehicle to a workshop, it was confirmed that a defective cable connection was indeed the problem, and it was repaired.

You had similar symptoms? What was the problem and how did you fix it? Did the radiator coolant have something to do with it?

Yep, pretty much the same symptoms. Coolant is just a precaution, but definitely check it. In my case, the radiator oil pressure was defective. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop to get it checked out properly to pinpoint the exact cause.

Thanks! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – a defective cable connection was the culprit! The repair cost me 95€.

Sounds rough! Something similar happened with my Berlingo. The gearbox was acting super weird, like it had a mind of its own, not shifting smoothly and sometimes getting stuck. Did you check the radiator coolant level? Maybe also check the pressure gauge.
