Berlingo washer fluid sensor issue

Interesting, I didn't know that! I've been topping it up with just regular water lately. So, you think it's the sensor being tricked by the water, even though there's enough fluid?

Yep, that's exactly what I suspect. The sensor is probably giving a false reading because of the plain water. Because of the error stored, the car will cut the power to the windshield washer system for safety reasons. Try filling it with proper screenwash mixture (the blue stuff). If that doesn't fix it, the sensor itself might be faulty, and you'll need to get it checked out at a workshop. Replacing the sensor isn't usually too expensive, though.

Thanks for the advice! I drained the plain water and filled it with proper screenwash concentrate. It worked! Warning light is gone and windshield washer works again. I was charged 25€ for the screenwash concentrate. Cheers!

Hey! I had a similar issue with my Berlingo. Even though the fluid level looks okay, the sensor might be faulty. The sensor basically checks the conductivity of the fluid to determine the level. Sometimes, if you're using just plain water instead of proper washer fluid, the conductivity is too low, triggering the warning. The error will be stored in the error memory. Have you tried using proper windshield washer fluid concentrate?
