Bipper Active Air Flap Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Peugeot Bipper is experiencing engine overheating and a check engine light, with diagnostics indicating an active air flap fault, likely due to an electromechanism issue. The problem seems to be that the active air flap, or grille shutter, isn't opening properly, especially noticeable in traffic. A suggested solution is to take the vehicle to a workshop for proper diagnosis and repair, as it requires specialized tools and recalibration.

Yes, the overheating is happening mostly in traffic. The fault code points to a failure in the active air flap circuit. Did you manage to fix it yourself, or did you end up taking it to a shop?

Unfortunately, I couldn't fix it myself. It required specialized tools and recalibration. I'd suggest a workshop to properly diagnose and repair the electromechanism. They can also check for any wiring issues contributing to the problem.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping it would be a simple fix, but it looks like a workshop is the way to go. Just got a quote for 590€, parts and labor. I guess I'll bite the bullet. Thanks again!

I had a similar issue with my Bipper. Is your engine overheating quickly, especially in traffic? If so, it sounds like the active air flap, also known as the grille shutter, isn't opening to allow proper airflow. What fault code are you seeing?
