Bipper Diesel DPF Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Peugeot Bipper with a diesel engine is experiencing reduced power and smoking during acceleration, particularly uphill, which may indicate a diesel particulate filter (DPF) issue. The symptoms, including increased fuel consumption, suggest the DPF might be clogged and not regenerating properly, affecting engine performance. It is recommended to have the exhaust system and DPF checked at a workshop to confirm the issue and prevent further complications.

Thanks for the quick reply! I forgot to mention, the fuel consumption has definitely gone up recently. No warning lights, though, which I found strange. What exactly was the problem with your DPF? Was it completely blocked?

Mine was indeed the DPF, getting clogged up and not regenerating properly. It got so bad the backpressure was affecting engine performance. Without any warning lights, it could be a sensor issue as well, but honestly, I'd get the exhaust system and DPF thoroughly checked at a workshop. Could save you a lot of headache down the road!

Okay, thanks for the advice. I took it to a local garage, and they confirmed it was the DPF. The repair (filter replacement) came out to 1550€. A bit pricey, but at least it's sorted. Thanks again!

Sounds very familiar! I have a Bipper diesel as well. Those symptoms definitely point to DPF issues. Have you noticed any increase in fuel consumption or had any warning lights on the dash?
