Bipper hissing sound and fuel economy issue
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Peugeot Bipper with a gasoline engine is experiencing poor fuel economy, a check engine light, and a hissing sound during acceleration. The suspected cause is an air intake leak, possibly from a cracked intake hose where it connects to the intake manifold. The issue was resolved by a workshop, confirming the intake hose as the problem, and the vehicle is now running smoothly.

Thanks for the tip! Was the hissing constant, or only under acceleration? And was it hard to spot the crack? I've been poking around under the hood, but everything looks okay at first glance.

Hissing was worse when accelerating. Honestly, I couldn't find the crack myself. Just took it to a workshop, and they sorted it quick.

Yeah, I think you're right. I'm admitting defeat and taking it to a shop. I was hoping to avoid the cost, but that hissing is getting on my nerves, and the fuel consumption is killing me. Thanks for the advice! It was indeed the intake hose, right where it connects to the manifold. Cost me 100€ to get it sorted. Now she's running like a dream!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Bipper. Check the intake hose, especially where it connects to the intake manifold. They're prone to cracking.
