Bipper stalling and IAC valve issue

My 2011 Peugeot Bipper with a gasoline engine has 241641 km. The check engine light is on, error memory says bad idle air control valve, and it occasionally stalls when idling. Could it be a dirty throttle body? I’m thinking the intake might be heavily contaminated. Anyone else run into this?

Sounds familiar. Had similar stalling issues and a check engine light on my old Saab, though with a different engine. Is your Bipper's air intake looking particularly grimy? That was the culprit in my case. Gunked-up air intake leads to all sorts of idle control problems.

Interesting! I haven’t specifically checked the air intake for grime, just assumed it could be. Was the fix on your Saab a simple clean, or did you have to replace the IAC valve too?

I tried cleaning it first, but the issue came back pretty quickly. Ended up having to replace the IAC valve and giving the whole intake system a proper cleaning. Honestly, given your mileage and the symptoms, it might be worth just taking it to a workshop. They'll diagnose it properly.

I took it to the shop, and you were spot on – heavily contaminated intake and a faulty IAC valve. The repair cost me 425€, but it's running smoothly now. Really appreciate the help!
