Bipper Sunroof Initialization Error

I'm having an odd issue with my 2008 Peugeot Bipper diesel. The sunroof's giving me a 'not initialized' error. Now the sunblind gets stuck, and the convertible top won't open or close. The sunblind also refuses to fully retract or extend. I suspect it happened after some coding, but could this be something else?

Strange one! I had a similar problem with my Bipper, though I can't recall any specific coding triggering it. Were the symptoms exactly the same – sunblind stuck, top completely unresponsive? Did you try any basic troubleshooting steps, like checking fuses or disconnecting the battery for a while?

Yeah, pretty much exactly the same. Fuses are fine, and I tried disconnecting the battery overnight, but no luck. Do you remember how you resolved it? Was it a simple fix, or did you need to replace parts?

Okay, if you've tried the simple fixes, it does sound like a main dealer visit. Yeah, it was doing exactly the same thing, eventually I took it to a garage who specialize in this type of issues. It turned out the software was corrupted. They performed a full reset and re-initialisation of the sunroof system’s control module. I think you need a garage to do this or someone with specific tools to recode it, sadly.

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of. Looks like a trip to the workshop is on the cards then. Appreciate the insight, and I'll report back when it's sorted. It was spot on: diagnostic confirmed the coding issue, and the re-initialization cost me 75€. Everything is working as expected now.
