Hey, sure, no problem. The repair of the DPF cost me €1325 - so it was a big chunk. And as for the exhaust back pressure sensor error on the diesel particulate filter - fortunately, that's been sorted since the visit to the mechanic. No further problems in this regard. I hope that helps you a little. Take good care of your little runabout!

Oh, that's a lot of money, but I'm glad to hear that no further problems have arisen after the repair. I'll take your advice and explain my situation to the garage in exactly the same way. I hope the same thing doesn't happen with my car, but it's good to be prepared. Thank you very much for your help and advice! Take care of your runabout too!

Hi, I had something similar last year with my 2013 Citroen DS3 Diesel. My diesel particulate filter was heavily loaded and I also had problems with an unstable engine, loss of power and increased fuel consumption, almost like yours. The mechanic first cleaned the DPF. Then he generated high engine speeds on the highway to burn off as much soot as possible. But it didn't really work, as the check engine light came on again. In the end, the DPF had to be replaced, as the mechanic pointed out early on. So it was a big deal. So the black smoke could be a good sign that your DPF is also heavily loaded. It may even be clogged. Be sure to mention this at your next workshop visit. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't get as bad for you as it did for me!
