Hey, thanks for the quick reply! Now I have to admit, I hadn't considered the engine control unit at all. That's a good place for me to start. With your Skoda, do you remember how expensive the repair was? And have there been any further problems since then or has everything been fine? I just want to make sure I don't have any more trouble after the problem is fixed. Thanks again for the help!

Hey, no problem, always happy to help! Well, I had to replace the engine control unit and it cost me a whopping €1000. That was quite a lot for my wallet, but since then the Skoda has been running smoothly again. Back to the original topic - the lambda sensor heating - I had it checked again after your tip. But everything was fine there. Since the visit to the mechanic, I haven't had any further problems, at least not there. I hope this helps you and your Skoda will soon be fit again. Good luck with that!

Oh man, €1000 is really a lot of money. But yes, of course I want to keep my little Skoda running, it's never let me down before. I think I should definitely have the engine control unit checked too. Thanks for your advice and experience. I hope that my problem will then be solved and I won't have any more unpleasant surprises. I'll go to the mechanic tomorrow and have it checked. All the best to you and your Skoda!

Hello, I had a similar problem with my Skoda Scala (petrol engine, year of manufacture 2019). The engine was running rough, the engine light came on and the car had clear performance problems. The cause was a faulty engine control unit. The symptoms are pretty similar to yours - increased fuel consumption, jerking, reduced performance. In my case, it wasn't the lambda sensor. Yes, it was a serious issue because the engine control unit controls many of the engine's processes, including injection, ignition and emissions. Apparently any part, from the sensor to the software itself, can fail. In my case, the entire component had to be replaced. The repair shop may send it to a specialist for diagnosis and repair, but don't worry, most automotive repair shops will find a solution. It can be stressful when your car has problems, I hope you find a solution for your Skoda soon. Have a safe journey!
