Hey, thanks for your feedback! It almost sounds like they had ours come straight off the same assembly line, just a few years difference. I'm also guessing the boost pressure sensor or maybe even the turbocharger as you say. That's right, you can't ignore something like that under any circumstances. That sounds like a really bad story what you've been through, which unfortunately doesn't give me much hope for my own vehicle... Do you remember how much the repair cost you in the end? Has anything else appeared on your car since then or has it been running without any problems? I'm looking forward to your answer, thanks in advance!

Hey, no problem, always happy to help! So, since I had the car at the mechanic, the defect in the boost pressure sensor has been fixed. As a result, the car feels more normal again and the whistling when accelerating is now also gone. As for the turbocharger, I can say that it wasn't cheap. I had to fork out €1070.00 to repair the defect. It was quite a lot of money, but now my car is running like new again. Fortunately, I haven't had any new problems since then. I hope this helps you and you can breathe easy again soon!

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience with me! 1070€ is of course a shock at first, but when I look at what the car cost new and what it brings me every day, then it's probably worth it. As long as it runs like new afterwards... That's really good news that you haven't had any more problems since. That makes me breathe a sigh of relief. I'm going to make an appointment with my mechanic now and hopefully I'll have the problem behind me soon too. Thanks again for your help. Really nice of you! I'll let you know how it goes. Bye!

Hey, I feel you, buddy. Last time I had almost exactly the same problem with my 2014 Mercedes GLK diesel, except it was white smoke from the exhaust. From your description, you could be right about the defective boost pressure sensor, but it could also be something deeper, like a turbocharger malfunctioning. I remember my car exhibiting similar strange behavior to yours - reduced power, excessive fuel consumption, loud noises when accelerating, and those strange clouds of smoke. It turned out that the turbocharger had taken a hit and that was the cause of all these symptoms. As annoying as it was, it wasn't a problem that could be ignored. Urgent maintenance aside, the car was never the same after the repair. But don't worry, with the right mechanic, your Merc can definitely get back on its feet. Good luck with that!
