Blazer Power Windows Failure
Summary of the thread
The 2004 Chevrolet Blazer experienced a failure in its power windows, initially suspected to be due to a faulty window regulator. However, a suggestion was made to first check the power window switch, particularly the master switch on the driver's side, as a defective switch could cause all windows to stop functioning and trigger a regulator-related error code. Upon further investigation at a workshop, it was confirmed that the power window switch was indeed the issue, leading to its replacement and resolving the problem.

That's a valid point. When you mention 'the switch itself,' are you referring to the master switch on the driver's side door panel? If so, is there a recommended method for testing its functionality before I start tearing apart the door panel to access the regulator?

Yes, the master switch on the driver's door. Testing it properly requires a multimeter to check for continuity and voltage. Without the right tools, it's difficult to diagnose definitively. Considering the stored error and the complete failure of all windows, a workshop visit might be prudent to avoid unnecessary parts replacements.

Thank you for your insights. I heeded your advice and took it to a local workshop. Turns out the power window switch was indeed defective. The repair, including parts and labor, came to 200€. Appreciate the pointer!

Have you checked the power window switch itself? A defective switch could prevent all windows from operating, and trigger a fault code related to the regulator due to lack of signal. Before replacing the regulator, rule out the simpler, cheaper component.
