BMAX Anti-Theft Alarm Malfunction

My 2017 Ford BMAX (gasoline engine) anti-theft alarm is malfunctioning. I'm getting an error stored in the memory, and the alarm itself isn't working. Anyone else experienced this? My car has 223213 km. It's incredibly frustrating!

I had a similar issue with my BMAX. Does the problem seem to be related to the optical locking? Specifically, is the alarm coded to activate the indicators when locking and unlocking the car? In my case, that was the root of the problem.

Optical locking? I'm not sure. How would I check that? And what exactly was happening with your car when it went wrong? Any further details would be much appreciated!

Yes, the indicators flashing when locking or unlocking. The alarm was acting up intermittently. It turned out the system was trying to activate the lights in a way that was causing the whole thing to crash. Given the error code you mentioned, I'd suggest having a workshop check the alarm system's configuration. It is more efficient than fiddling with it yourself. They can probably recode it or identify a faulty component.

Thanks a lot! I took it to a mechanic, and you were spot on. It was the alarm system trying to activate the indicators on locking. They recoded it, and it cost me 45€. Everything is working perfectly now. I really appreciate your help!
