BMAX boost pressure actuator fault

Yeah, I think the boost pressure actuator controls the turbocharger. No, I haven't noticed any black smoke, thankfully. So, was it definitely the actuator in your case? How did you figure it out, and what did you do to fix it?

Yep, sounds like the electrical bypass valve is defective. I wouldn't mess with it too much myself; the turbo system is pretty sensitive. I ended up taking it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was the actuator. Cost me about 250€ to get it sorted. Best to get it checked out properly before it causes more damage, in my opinion.

Thanks a lot for the advice! Sounds like I'm heading to the workshop then. Will let you know how it goes. It was exactly that; they changed the actuator, and now everything runs smoothly. Cost me 250€, but at least it's fixed!

That sounds incredibly familiar! I had almost exactly the same symptoms with my BMAX: whistling and hissing, loss of power, the whole shebang. A boost pressure actuator fault... that's the turbo actuator, right? Did you notice any black smoke or anything like that?
