BMAX Oil Pressure Warning

Help! My 2012 Ford BMAX diesel has a serious issue. The oil pressure warning lamp keeps lighting up, along with a warning light in the speedometer. I've checked the oil level, and it's full, but the oil looks almost black. Could an exceeded maintenance interval cause this?

I had something similar happen on my BMAX. Dark oil and oil pressure warnings. How many miles are on your oil filter? Sometimes a clogged filter can cause pressure problems. It might be worth checking the condition of the oil filter, they are intended to filter the oil, but if it isn't replaced regularly, can become clogged.

Interesting, how dark was your oil? And did you experience any engine damage as a result? I'm wondering if I should try an oil additive to clean things up before changing the oil and filter.

My oil was pretty dark, almost like tar. I didn't risk using additives. With the oil pressure light coming on, it's too dangerous to drive, and you risk serious engine damage. I'd recommend getting to a workshop ASAP for an oil and filter change. That should hopefully solve it.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and it turned out the maintenance interval had been exceeded by quite a bit. They changed the oil and filter and the lights are gone. Cost me 165€. Lesson learned!
