BMAX Outside Temperature Sensor Fault

I had something similar with my BMAX. The outside temp reading was way off, and the air con wouldn't kick in. Have you checked the sensor itself? It's usually located near the front bumper, behind the grille. Give the connector a wiggle and see if that makes a difference. What's the mileage on your car?

Connector seems ok on visual inspection. Car's done 191164 km. Any idea what the fix was on yours?

Yep, sounds very familiar. I tried cleaning the contacts, but no luck. In the end, I had to take it to a workshop. They ran diagnostics and confirmed it was a faulty sensor or wiring. They sorted it for about 100€ including labour. Best to get it checked properly.
