BMAX Power Windows Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Ford BMAX experienced a failure in its power windows, with a diagnostic error indicating a window regulator issue. The problem was identified as a malfunctioning power window switch, which controls the power to the window motor. The suggested solution was to have the switch checked and replaced, which resolved the issue at a local garage.

The error was pretty vague, just something about the window regulator malfunctioning. What exactly does the switch do, and could that really stop all the windows from working?

The switch controls the power going to the window motor, which is part of the regulator assembly. If the switch is defective, it can cut off the power supply. Yes, it could stop all the windows working if they are linked through a central control. Given the symptoms and error, and that you are not too familiar, it is probably best to take it to a workshop.

Thanks for the help! Took it to a local garage, and you were spot on – it was the power window switch! Cost me 200€ all in to get it sorted.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra. The power windows just packed it in. The 'window regulator' is basically the mechanism that moves the window up and down. Did the error message say anything specific? Sometimes it's just a faulty switch.
