BMAX preheating lamp and engine light
Summary of the thread
A 2013 diesel BMAX is experiencing issues with the preheating lamp staying on, a check engine light, and smoke during acceleration. Diagnostics suggest the problem may be related to the glow control unit, possibly involving a cable or plug issue. The engine also struggles to start, particularly in cold conditions. It is recommended to have the vehicle inspected at a workshop to determine if a simple fix or a replacement of the glow control unit is needed.

Yes, the engine struggles to start, especially when it's cold. Did you have smoke too? How did you fix it?

Yep, the smoke was there too, especially when I put my foot down. Turns out it was the same glow plug control unit thing. Honestly, I'd suggest getting it checked out at a workshop. Could be a simple fix, or you might need a new unit. Better safe than sorry, you know?

I'll book it in for inspection. The diagnostic test indicated a repair cost of about 95€.

Hey! I had something similar with my BMAX. Preheating lamp stayed on, and the engine light popped up. Was yours also a bit sluggish to start, especially when it's cold?
