That's a good point. The battery is a few years old now. How did you figure out it was the battery? Did you have similar symptoms besides the car defrost not working properly? I was thinking about checking the heating coil fuse first, but the battery might be a good place to start.

Well, the car was struggling to start sometimes, and the electronics were a bit glitchy. The garage tested the battery and confirmed it was heavily discharged and defective. Honestly, with those symptoms and the error code, I'd advise getting your battery checked professionally. It might be worth a shot before digging deeper.

Thanks for the advice! You were spot on. I took it to the workshop, and it turned out the battery was indeed the culprit. They replaced it, and the rear window heating is working again. The whole thing cost me 290€ Appreciate the help!

Interesting. I had a similar issue with my old Renault Megane, though it was the front window demister that was acting up. Are you sure your battery is in good condition? Because in my case it was a weak battery. It’s like trying to run too many appliances on a low-voltage supply.
