Hey Steve! Thanks so much for sharing your experience! That does sound exactly like what I'm dealing with. Was thinking about the wiring too, but wasn't sure. Can't believe moisture can cause so much trouble with these cars! Mind if I ask how much you ended up paying for the whole repair? Also, have you had any other warning lights or issues pop up since they fixed it?

Good news, I can give you a positive update! After getting it fixed at the BMW specialist, my car has been running perfectly with no warning lights whatsoever. The emergency call system is working like a charm now. Turned out it was exactly what we suspected, just a faulty cable connection that needed sorting out. The total bill came to 95 € for fixing the cable connection, which honestly wasn't as bad as I'd feared. They found a damaged plug that was causing all those annoying alerts, and once they repaired it, everything went back to normal. Much cheaper than I expected, especially compared to replacing the entire module! It's been about two months since the repair, and I haven't seen a single warning light since. The speedometer and nav screen are both clear as day. If you're still looking for a fix, I'd definitely recommend getting it checked out soon, these electrical gremlins tend to get worse if left alone. Let me know how you get on! Steve

Hey Steve! Thanks again for all the helpful info! Just wanted to update you, I took your advice and finally got my car checked out. You were spot on about the wiring issue. Took it to a specialist who diagnosed it quickly, turns out there was a damaged connection causing all those warning lights. The repair wasn't nearly as painful as I'd feared. Paid about 120 for the fix, which included cleaning up some corrosion and replacing a connector. Way better than what I was imagining! Been driving for a week now, and not a single warning light in sight. The nav screen and speedometer are working perfectly. Really glad I didn't put this off any longer. Should've done it sooner instead of worrying about another bad mechanic experience. Sometimes you just need that push from someone who's been through it! Thanks for helping me sort this out, Mark

I had a similar issue with my 2007 BMW 3 Series 320d last month. The warning lights and error messages were driving me nuts, especially on the instrument cluster and iDrive screen. Turned out it was indeed the emergency call module, but also a corroded wiring connection to the module. At the garage, they found that moisture had gotten into the main connection plug, causing intermittent faults. They had to replace the entire wiring harness for that section and the module itself. Not a life-threatening issue for the car, but definitely something that needed fixing to stop those annoying warnings. The repair wasn't too complex, but they needed specific diagnostic tools to properly reset the system afterward. My advice would be to find a garage that specializes in BMW electronics, regular mechanics often struggle with these specific systems. Hope this helps, Steve
