Hey again! Good to hear back from you. I just checked my records from when I had mine fixed. The total came to 365 € for replacing the blower motor. And I'm happy to report that since getting it repaired, it's been working perfectly fine, no more issues whatsoever! The cabin ventilation is back to normal, and everything's running smoothly. You mentioned having extended warranty, which is great, definitely take advantage of that. My repair wasn't covered anymore since my warranty had expired, but it was worth every penny to get it properly fixed. Just wanted to update everyone, got my car back from the shop yesterday! Similar to what others mentioned, it was indeed the blower motor that needed replacement. The mechanic found some water damage that had caused the motor to fail. Since my car was still under warranty, I only had to pay a small service fee. The whole repair took about 4 hours, but the results are fantastic! The ventilation is working perfectly now, even better than before. Really glad I didn't put this off any longer. For anyone reading this in the future with similar issues, don't hesitate to get it checked out. The repair was much smoother than I expected, and I didn't have any of the nightmare scenarios I was worried about. Big relief to have proper airflow again, especially for the windshield! Had the same issue on my 2014 BMW 4 Series diesel last winter. The blower went completely dead without warning. Turned out the blower motor resistor was fried, and moisture had corroded the wiring connector. Had to replace both the blower motor and resistor unit. Not a complex repair, but it needed specialized diagnostic tools to properly reset the system. Took about 3 hours total at the shop. Wasn't a major repair in terms of engine health or safety, just an inconvenient climate control issue. Definitely get it checked soon though, driving without proper ventilation isn't great, especially when you need the defroster.
