Thanks so much for sharing your experience! That's really helpful to know about the wiring harness and clutch sensor issues. Everything you described matches my problems perfectly. Just curious, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the repairs? And has everything stayed working properly since then, or have you noticed any other quirks popping up? Really trying to avoid another expensive misdiagnosis here.

Hey again! Glad I could help earlier. Just wanted to update you, everything has been working perfectly since I got it fixed. The mechanic found it was indeed the bad clutch pedal switch, just like what I suspected. Only cost me 95 € to fix, turned out to be a simple cable/plug connection that was acting up. Way less painful than I expected! Haven't had a single electrical gremlin since the repair, which was honestly such a relief. The cruise control, gear display, and starting issues all cleared up completely. No more unusual error codes either. It's been smooth sailing for months now. Honestly, it's such a common issue with these BMWs that most decent mechanics should be able to diagn't it pretty quickly. Just make sure they check those connections properly, sometimes it's the simplest things that cause the biggest headaches, right? But trust me, once it's fixed, it stays fixed. Best 95 € I've spent on the car!

You've seriously just made my day! I actually took it to a mechanic yesterday after reading your first message. Turns out you were spot on, they found the same issue with the wiring and some corroded connections. Cost me a bit more than yours at 120 bucks, but totally worth it to have everything working properly again. The mechanic also mentioned these problems are pretty typical in BMWs after they hit the 100k mark. Really glad I didn't fall for the whole "you need a new transmission" line that another shop tried to feed me. Can't believe how much simpler and cheaper the fix was than I'd feared. Just drove it home and it's running like a dream, no more error messages, cruise control's back to normal, and the gear display is crystal clear. Thanks again for saving me from what could've been another expensive nightmare! Really appreciate you taking the time to help out.

Hey! I had similar symptoms with my 2019 BMW 3 Series. The electrical gremlins you're describing sound exactly like what I dealt with. Unusual error codes, cruise control acting up, and gear display issues too. Initially thought it was something major, but turned out to be a faulty wiring harness connection near the transmission control module. Had quite a bit of corrosion built up there. The mechanic cleaned the connections, replaced a couple of damaged pins, and reseated all the relevant plugs. While they were at it, they found the clutch pedal sensor was loose and needed adjustment. The whole thing wasn't too serious, just tedious to diagnose because electrical issues can be tricky to pinpoint. Everything's been working perfectly since the fix. Quick tip: Make sure they check all the ground points too. Bad grounds can cause weird electrical issues that seem unrelated.
