Thanks for sharing your experience! My car's at 68126 KM, and I just had it serviced last month, so this issue caught me off guard. The error code I'm getting is P0A7F. It started happening about a week ago, usually when I'm waiting at traffic lights or in slow-moving traffic. I've also noticed the battery charge indicator fluctuating more than usual. I'm hoping it's just a connection issue like yours, that would be a relief! Haven't noticed any other weird behavior besides the stalling and fluctuating battery indicator. I'll definitely get it checked by a mechanic, but wanted to gather some insights from fellow BMW owners first. Your experience gives me hope it might be something relatively simple and not too expensive to fix.

Hey again! Thanks for sharing those details, that error code P0A7F definitely rings a bell. After seeing your mileage and symptoms, I'm even more convinced it's similar to what I experienced, though mine happened at around 72000 KM. The battery charge indicator fluctuation you mentioned is exactly what I saw too, should've mentioned that in my first reply! It's a classic sign of electrical connection issues in these hybrids. In my case, the connection problem was actually affecting the battery management system, which explains both the stalling and the wonky battery readings. One thing I learned during my ordeal, if you're taking it to a mechanic, make sure they're familiar with hybrid systems. The first guy I went to missed the issue completely and tried to blame it on the fuel injectors! Wasted money there before finding someone who actually knew these cars. Just to put your mind at ease, even though the symptoms seem scary (especially the stalling), it's usually not a major component failure. Course, your 3 series might be different from my 5, but these hybrids tend to have similar electrical quirks. Keep us posted on what your mechanic finds! I'm really curious to know if it's the same issue I had.

Thanks so much for the detailed follow-up! That's super helpful, especially the tip about finding a hybrid-savvy mechanic. I actually know a specialist who works specifically on BMW hybrids, so I'll give them a call tomorrow. What you said about the battery management system makes total sense, I've been doing some reading since my last post, and lots of people mention similar symptoms when there's an electrical connection problem. It's honestly such a relief to hear this might not be as serious as I initially feared. I was worried I'd need to replace some major components! I've booked an appointment for next week, and I'll definitely update this thread once I know what's actually causing the problem. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, it's helped me understand what I might be dealing with.

Hey there! I've got some experience with hybrids, and I had a pretty similar issue with my 2012 BMW 5 Hybrid. I feel your pain! The symptoms you're describing sound exactly like what I dealt with last month. Mine turned out to be a loose connection in one of the main electrical plugs. My trusted mechanic found it during diagnostics, one of the cables had worked itself loose over time, causing those unusual stalls. The fix wasn't too complicated, they had to clean the connection points and secure the plug properly. Cost me about 95 Euro, and the car's been running smoothly since then. Much cheaper than I'd feared! Before jumping to conclusions though, could you share the error code you're getting? Also, when exactly did this start happening, and have you noticed any other unusual behavior? This info would help compare if it's the same issue I had. The 3 series has a different layout than my 5 series, so it might be something else, but knowing these details would help narrow things down.
