Thanks for sharing your experience! Mine's got 108497 KM on the clock, and I just had it serviced last month. No recent work done besides regular maintenance, and I haven't hit anything on the road. The weird thing is, these warnings just popped up out of nowhere while driving on a normal day. And nope, no other warning lights showing up, just these two staying on constantly. The sensor issue you mentioned sounds pretty similar to what I'm experiencing. Might give my service advisor a call to check if that could be my problem too.

Hey again! Yeah, after reading about your mileage and how the issue just popped up out of nowhere, I'm even more convinced it's similar to what I experienced. My warnings also appeared out of nowhere during a regular drive, and my car had around 95,000 KM at the time. Speaking from my experience with the 3 Series, these sensors can definitely start acting up even without any physical impact or damage. Mine was working perfectly fine one day and went haywire the next. The service advisor told me it's not uncommon for these sensors to deteriorate over time, especially in hybrids due to the complex electronics. Since you've just had your service done, definitely give them a call. If it is the acceleration sensor like in my case, it's a relatively straightforward fix. My car was in and out of the workshop in about 3 hours. Just make sure they do a full system reset after replacing the sensor, that's crucial. Let me know how it goes, would be interesting to know if it's the same issue. These BMWs can be a bit finicky with their electronics sometimes, but they're worth the occasional headache!

Thanks so much for the detailed follow-up! Really helpful to hear more about your experience. I've actually just called my service advisor and managed to book the car in for next week. Mentioned your sensor situation to them, and they agreed it sounds like a probable cause. They're going to do a full diagnostic check but will pay special attention to the acceleration sensor. You're right about these BMWs being worth the occasional hassle, I still love driving mine despite these little quirks! Will definitely keep track of the repair cost too, sounds like it might be in the same ballpark as yours. Hope it's just as straightforward a fix as yours was. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, it's made me feel a lot more confident about what I'm dealing with here.

Hey there! I've got some experience with cars, and I actually had a similar issue with my 2021 BMW 3 Series Hybrid last year (I also considered the 5 Series back then). The same warning lights popped up on my dash. Turns out it was a faulty acceleration sensor that was triggering false signals to the active hood system. Got it fixed at my workshop, they replaced the sensor and reset the system. Cost me around 315 Euro, but it solved the problem completely. But before jumping to conclusions, could you share more details? Like: Has there been any recent work done on the car? Did you notice this after hitting something on the road? Are there any other warning lights showing up? This would help narrow down if you're dealing with the same issue I had.
