Good day, After 5 months of not starting, my 2009 BMW 5 series had a dead battery. Put a new one in and now I get a "check engine soon" warning. Reset doesn't help. Drive a lot or is it something else?

Try checking the gas cap to ensure it's properly tightened, as a loose cap can trigger the "check engine" light. If the light persists, consider using an OBD-II scanner to read the error codes for more specific guidance. Let me know if you need further assistance!

Check the battery connections for corrosion or looseness, as this can prevent the car from starting. Clean and tighten them if necessary. If the battery is old, it might need replacement. Let me know how it goes or if you have further questions!
