BMW 5: Problems with engine performance and idling

I have some problems with my BMW 5. The check engine light is on, the engine is running rough, the engine power is reduced and there is a shudder when idling. The fault readout indicates that there are combustion misfires in cylinders 4 and 6 and the injection is switched off. I have already replaced the spark plugs and ignition coils, but the problem persists. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this and how I can fix it?

Summary of the thread

The BMW 5 is experiencing engine performance issues, including a check engine light, rough running, reduced power, and shuddering when idling. The diagnostic indicates combustion misfires in cylinders 4 and 6, with the injection switched off. Despite replacing spark plugs and ignition coils, the problem remains. A suggested solution is to check and possibly clean or replace the fuel injectors for those cylinders, as they might be clogged or faulty.

Check the fuel injectors for cylinders 4 and 6. They might be clogged or faulty, causing the misfires. You can try cleaning them or swapping them with injectors from other cylinders to see if the problem moves. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

No start/crank 2012 BMW 550i had vehicle diagnostics done, shop says cheap battery, power distributor needs replacement, and battery registration. 2nd cause could be starter needs replacement. I thought diagnostics you would know exactly what the problem? Charged $619 for two diagnostics

Start by replacing the battery with a high-quality one and ensure it is properly registered to the vehicle. This can often resolve electrical issues. If the problem persists, consider checking the power distributor and starter as suggested. Let me know if this helps or if you have any further questions!
