Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! That sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with. Really helpful to know it turned out to be a battery/voltage problem rather than just brake pads. Do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole fix? Also, has everything been running smoothly since the repair, or have you noticed any other issues pop up?

Hey again! Happy to give you an update! Yeah, the fix worked out great, all those warning lights haven't come back since I got it sorted. The undervoltage issue was taken care of, and they fixed the worn brakes while they were at it. Total bill came to 240 € for the electrical work, which wasn't as bad as I'd feared. The car's been running like a dream for the past few months. Brake pedal feels normal again, and all those annoying warning lights have stayed off. Honestly, such a relief to have it properly sorted. The hybrid system's working perfectly now, no more weird behavior or system warnings. My advice would be to get yours checked out sooner rather than later. These electrical gremlins can be tricky, but once they're fixed properly, you should be good to go. Just make sure you get someone who really knows their way around hybrid systems. Let me know how you get on with yours!

Thanks so much for all the details! I actually just got back from getting it checked out. You were spot on, it was the same voltage issue you described. Had to take it to a specialist hybrid shop since my regular mechanic wasn't equipped for these systems. The fix was a bit pricier for me, around 300€ total with some additional work they found needed doing. But honestly, just glad to have it sorted. Took it for a test drive afterward, and what a difference! The brake pedal's back to normal, all those warning lights are gone, and the car feels so much smoother overall. Really appreciate you sharing your experience, saved me a lot of worry and helped me know what to expect. Think I've found my new go-to mechanic too. They really knew their stuff with hybrids and explained everything clearly. Such a relief to have this sorted! Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction with this!

Hey there! I had nearly identical symptoms with my 2012 BMW 5 Series Hybrid last year. Initially thought it was just brake pads too, but turned out to be an undervoltage issue affecting multiple systems. The battery wasn't holding proper charge, which caused those cascade warnings you're describing. The brake pedal feel changed because the power brake assist system wasn't getting consistent voltage. When I brought it to the garage, they diagnosed it with their computer system and found the hybrid battery pack was failing to maintain stable voltage levels, affecting all the electronic assistance systems. Got it fixed with a hybrid battery reconditioning service and replacement of some electrical components in the brake assist module. Not a simple brake pad issue at all, this was definitely serious enough to need immediate attention since it affected core safety systems. Given your car's symptoms match mine almost exactly, I'd strongly suggest getting it checked at a dealer or specialist hybrid shop that has proper diagnostic equipment. This isn't something you want to leave unaddressed. Best of luck with it.
