Thanks for sharing your experience! My car has done 182,808 KM since I got it, and it's been showing these symptoms for about two weeks now. I'm getting error code 4F3B8 on the display. And yes, actually, now that you mention it, the problem does seem worse when it's been raining! The suspension gets really wonky after driving through heavy rain. Haven't had any issues during my latest service about a month ago, so this is definitely a new problem. Really helpful to know it might just be a wiring issue rather than the whole compressor. Makes me feel a bit better about the potential repair costs!

Hey again! Thanks for confirming those details, that's literally the same error code I got (4F3B8), so I'm now even more convinced you're dealing with the exact same issue I had. After hearing about your mileage and the rain connection, it's pretty much identical to what happened with mine. I was at around 175,000 KM when it started acting up. The fact that it gets worse in wet weather really points to that wiring problem I mentioned. Just to add some more detail from my experience, before I got it fixed, I noticed the symptoms would sometimes temporarily improve after the car sat in the sun for a while (probably because everything dried out a bit). Did you notice anything like that? The repair was actually pretty quick once they identified the problem. My mechanic said these wiring issues are becoming a common problem on our generation of BMW hybrids, especially as they rack up the miles. The moisture tends to creep in through tiny cracks in the wire insulation that develop over time. If you want, I can share the exact repair report I got from my workshop, might help you compare notes when you take yours in. Just let me know!

Thanks so much for all this additional info! It's incredible how similar our situations are. You basically described my experience to a T, even that bit about the symptoms improving after sitting in the sun. I noticed this last weekend when we had that sunny spell, and I thought I was imagining things! The mileage similarity really helps confirm this too. I'll definitely get it checked out focusing on the wiring rather than jumping straight to replacing the compressor. Would really appreciate seeing that repair report if you don't mind sharing it. This kind of detailed info will be super helpful when I take it to the workshop. You've saved me from a lot of worry here, I was expecting a massive repair bill, but this sounds much more manageable. The whole thing has been pretty stressful, especially with all those warning lights staring at me every time I drive! Really grateful for your help and detailed responses. I'll update you once I get it sorted!

Hey! I've got some experience working on hybrids and had a similar issue with my 2021 BMW 5 Series Hybrid last year. My car showed pretty much the same symptoms, uneven stance, warning lights, and those annoying error messages. Turned out it wasn't actually the compressor itself, but a loose connection in the wiring harness that controls the air suspension system. The workshop found that moisture had gotten into one of the plugs, causing intermittent connection problems. The fix was relatively straightforward, they cleaned the connections, replaced a damaged cable, and resealed everything properly. Cost me 95 Euro and it's been working perfectly since then. Before I share more specific details though, could you tell me if you're getting any specific error codes? Also, does the problem get worse in wet weather? This might help identify if you're dealing with the same issue I had. I've seen similar problems on the new 8 Series too, so it's not uncommon in these models.
