Hey, thanks so much for sharing your experience! It's really helpful to hear from someone who went through the same thing. My issue got sorted last week with the harness replacement too. I was wondering, do you remember roughly how much you paid for the whole repair? Also, has everything stayed perfect since the fix, or have you noticed any other small issues popping up? Just want to make sure I know what to expect down the road. Really appreciate your help with this!

Hey again! Glad to hear you got yours fixed too! Yes, in my case, everything has been running perfectly smooth since I had it repaired. Not a single warning light or glitch since then, it's like having a new car again! The repair cost me 155 € total, which mainly covered fixing that faulty cable connection to the control unit where it hooks up to the BUS system. The mechanic did a thorough job explaining what was wrong and showing me exactly where the problem was. Honestly, I was relieved it wasn't anything more serious (or expensive). Been driving it daily for over a month now, and all systems are working exactly as they should, infotainment, warning systems, everything. Just keep an eye on things for peace of mind, but based on my experience, once they fix that connection properly, you shouldn't have any more problems. These electrical gremlins can be annoying, but at least this particular issue seems to have a straightforward fix. Let me know if anything else comes up!

Thanks for all the details! Just wanted to give you guys a quick update on my repair experience. Finally took my car to a mechanic last week, actually found a really good one through a. The repair went way smoother than expected. They found that loose connection in the wiring harness pretty quickly. The mechanic was super transparent, even called me over to show exactly what was wrong. Mind you, it cost me a bit more, around 200€, since they had to replace a few extra connectors, but honestly, it was worth every penny. The best part? No more unusual warning lights popping up on my dash! The infotainment system's working perfectly, and all those weird electrical issues have completely disappeared. After my last nightmare experience with a different mechanic, this was such a relief. Just wanted to thank everyone for their input. It really helped me know what to look for and what questions to ask. Think I've finally found a reliable mechanic I can trust for future issues too!

Hello, my speedometer is no longer working.
Start by checking the fuse related to the speedometer in your vehicle's fuse box, as a blown fuse could be the simplest cause. If the fuse is intact, the issue might be with the speed sensor or the wiring. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

Hey there! I had nearly identical issues with my 2019 BMW 2 Series 220d. The symptoms you're describing sound very familiar, unusual warning lights, infotainment glitches, and control unit failures. Last month, I had it checked at the garage, and it turned out to be a faulty connection in the main control unit's cable harness where it connects to the vehicle's BUS system. The insulation had worn down, causing intermittent connection problems. The mechanic showed me how the wiring had deteriorated and was causing communication issues between different modules. It was a serious issue that needed immediate attention since these electrical problems could potentially affect critical systems. The repair involved replacing the entire cable harness assembly and reprogramming the control units. The job took about 6 hours. Since the fix, all systems have been working flawlessly, no more warning lights or system failures. Just make sure you go to a workshop that specializes in BMW electrical systems, as diagnosing these issues requires specific knowledge and equipment. Good luck with the repair!
