Thanks for sharing your experience! That really sounds like what I'm dealing with. Quick question, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the fix? Also, has everything been working smoothly since then, or have you noticed any other electrical quirks pop up? Been worried about potential ongoing issues with the electrical system.

Hey again! Just wanted to update you about the repair, after seeing the mechanic last week, the issue was fixed completely. It ended up being exactly what I suspected, a faulty light switch due to a bad cable connection. The repair cost was 95 € which honestly wasn't as bad as I initially feared. Since the fix, everything's been working perfectly, all lights functioning as they should, no more permanent low beam issues, and most importantly, no error codes. Such a relief! The electrical system's been running smoothly with no other quirks showing up at all. My experience just confirms that it's worth getting these things checked out properly. The technician mentioned it's actually a fairly common issue in these hybrid models, especially when moisture gets into the connections. Really glad I didn't put off getting it fixed, could have led to bigger problems down the line. Feel free to ask if you need any other details about the repair. Always happy to help out a fellow BMW owner!

Thanks for the follow-up! That's really reassuring to hear, especially about the repair cost. You're totally right, I finally got mine checked out yesterday at a certified shop. Funny enough, my issue was also related to moisture damage, but it was a bit pricier since they had to replace both the control module and some wiring. The mechanic was super thorough though, explained everything clearly, and even showed me the corroded parts. The whole process took about 6 hours, but it was worth the wait. The car's running perfectly now, all lights working as they should. Such a relief to have it sorted! Really glad I asked here first, your experience helped me know what to expect and made me feel more confident about getting it fixed properly. Thanks again for all your help. Definitely learned my lesson about dealing with electrical issues promptly!

Hey there! I actually faced a similar issue with my 2017 BMW i3s Hybrid last winter. The symptoms you're describing sound exactly like what I experienced, constant low beam, no control over any lights, and error codes popping up. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty connection in the light control module. The main issue was corrosion on the cable terminals connecting to the switch assembly. I took it to a certified BMW service center, and they found that moisture had gotten into the connection point, causing intermittent failures. The fix involved replacing the wiring harness and the light control module. It wasn't a quick fix, took them about 4-5 hours to complete the job. While it wasn't cheap, it was definitely a serious electrical issue that needed immediate attention to prevent further damage to the car's electrical system. My advice would be to get it checked at a certified BMW dealer. These newer hybrid models have complex electrical systems, and you'll want someone who knows what they're doing with the specific model. Hope this helps with your decision.
