BMW iX1 Speedometer Error: Multiple Warning Messages

Hey all, having a weird situation with my 2022 BMW iX1 EV. The speedometer keeps lighting up with multiple error messages, and the error memory seems to be locked. Has anyone encountered this before? I'd really like to hear about your experiences, especially if you managed to get it fixed at a workshop. What was the actual problem and how did they resolve it? Any insights would be super helpful as I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my car.

Hey there! I had some experience with something similar on my 2020 BMW i4 (I also own an iX3). As someone with some car experience, I can relate to this issue. Had the exact same symptoms, multiple error messages on the speedometer and a locked error memory. Turned out to be an undervoltage problem in the electrical system. Took it to my workshop, and they diagnosed it using their diagnostic tools. The fix wasn't too complex, but it did cost me around 240 Euro. Could you share more details about when these error messages appear? Do they show up when you're driving or when the car is stationary? Also, have you noticed any changes in the battery performance lately? This info would help me understand if you're dealing with the same issue I had.

Thanks for sharing your experience! My issue seems quite similar. The errors mainly pop up during driving, especially when I'm accelerating. Haven't noticed any battery performance issues though. My car has 68708 KM on the clock and just had its service last month, which makes this even more puzzling. I'll definitely have them check the electrical system based on your experience, really helpful to know about that undervoltage issue you mentioned. Did your error messages also appear out of nowhere, or was there a specific pattern?

Hey again! Thanks for those extra details about your situation. Yes, my error messages were pretty similar, they'd show up during acceleration too! Actually, in my case, they started appearing out of nowhere at first, but then became more frequent during acceleration, just like you're experiencing. What's interesting is that mine also started acting up not long after a service (around 65,000 KM), which really had me scratching my head at the time. The undervoltage issue I mentioned turned out to be related to a faulty voltage converter that wasn't properly regulating the power distribution in the electrical system. One thing I noticed before getting it fixed was that the errors would sometimes clear themselves after parking the car for a while, but they'd always come back during drives. Really annoying stuff! The workshop told me this is pretty typical with these kinds of electrical gremlins in our BMWs. Since you're having such similar symptoms, I'd bet you're dealing with the same thing. Would definitely recommend getting that electrical system checked out, specifically the voltage regulation components. The fix for me was pretty straightforward once they pinpointed the issue, and the car's been running perfectly since then. Let me know what you find out when you get it checked, I'm really curious if it turns out to be the same problem!

Thanks so much for all these details, this is exactly the kind of info I needed! It's actually really reassuring to hear that your experience matches mine so closely, especially with the errors showing up during acceleration and starting shortly after service. Mine do clear up sometimes after parking too, which I hadn't mentioned earlier but now seems super relevant. I've just booked an appointment with my workshop for next week to get the electrical system checked out, specifically mentioning the voltage converter issue you had. The fact that your fix was straightforward gives me hope this won't be too major. Really appreciate you taking the time to share all this, it's definitely helped me feel less worried about the whole situation. I'll keep you posted on what they find when I get it checked out!
