Just wanted to update everyone, got my M2 checked out yesterday and you guys were spot on! Took it to a new mechanic who really knew his BMWs. Turned out it was exactly what we thought, the fuel pressure regulator was acting up, along with a faulty sensor. The repair was actually pretty quick and didn't break the bank like I feared. Was in and out in a couple of hours, and my wallet only took a minor hit. The best part? My baby's running like new again! No more rough idle, the power's back, and that pesky check engine light is finally gone. Can't tell you how relieved I am that I asked for advice here. The new mechanic was way better than my last one, really knew what he was talking about and didn't try to upsell me on stuff I didn't need. Funny how sometimes these things work out better than expected! Thanks again for all the help, especially sharing your M4 experience. It really helped me know what to expect and not panic too much about the whole situation.

Good day, could the problem be with the high-pressure pump? Regards

It's possible for a high-pressure fuel pump to cause similar symptoms, but since claralorenz4's issue was resolved with the fuel pressure regulator and sensor, it's likely not the case here. If you're experiencing similar symptoms, start by checking for any error codes with an OBD-II scanner, as this can help pinpoint the issue. If you suspect the high-pressure pump, listen for unusual noises from the pump area and check for fuel leaks. Let me know how it goes or if you have further questions!

Thanks for sharing your experience! That's super helpful to know it was the pressure regulator and sensor combo causing all that trouble. Would you mind telling me roughly how much you ended up paying for the full fix? Also, has everything been running smoothly since the repair, or have you noticed any other quirks? Just want to get an idea of what I might be looking at cost-wise and if I should expect any follow-up issues with my M2.
