Just wanted to update everyone, I took your advice and got my M3 checked out by a BMW specialist. you were spot on! Turned out it was indeed the Lambda sensor, plus they found a hairline crack in the manifold, just like you mentioned. The repairs ended up costing me about 850€ total because of the manifold work, but what a difference! The car feels completely transformed, smooth acceleration, no more rough running, and that annoying exhaust smell is gone. Passed the emissions test with flying colors too.
