Thanks so much for sharing your experience! This definitely sounds like what I'm dealing with. Really good to know about checking both batteries, I was only focused on the auxiliary one. Quick question, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole repair? Also, has everything been running smoothly since, or have you noticed any other electrical quirks pop up? Thanks again for the help!

Hey again! Happy to give you an update! Since I had both batteries checked and replaced, everything's been running perfectly smooth, not a single electrical problem in sight. The repair actually ended up being pretty straightforward and cost me 290 € total, which included diagnosing the issue and replacing the auxiliary battery. Turns out that was the only thing that needed fixing in my case. The best part is that all those annoying symptoms, you know, the warning lights, start-stop problems, and those nerve-wracking slow starts, they're completely gone. My X3 is back to starting up like a charm, and all the electrical systems are working just as they should. The coding part was included in the price too, which was a relief. Just a heads up, you're smart to get this checked out sooner rather than later. Mine's been absolutely perfect since the fix, but waiting too long could've led to bigger headaches. Let me know how it goes with yours!

Thanks for the detailed follow-up! You won't believe what happened, I actually just got back from the shop today. Funny how things work out, but it was exactly what you described. I ended up taking it to a different mechanic this time, what a difference! The guy actually took the time to explain everything. Turned out my auxiliary battery was completely shot, but thankfully the main one was still okay. They did all the testing, replaced the bad battery, and got everything coded properly. The whole thing cost a bit less than what you paid, and honestly, it was worth every penny. The car's running like new again, no more warning lights, start-stop is working perfectly, and it fires up instantly. Such a relief! Thanks again for your help. It really made me feel better knowing someone else had dealt with the same issue and got it sorted. Here's hoping we both stay electrical-problem-free for a good long while!

Hey there! I had almost identical issues with my 2019 BMW X3 last year. The symptoms you're describing match exactly what I experienced, unusual warning lights, start-stop failure, and sluggish starts. Initially thought it was just the main battery, but turned out both the main and auxiliary batteries needed replacement. The auxiliary battery helps power all those electronic systems when the engine's off, and when it fails, it causes all sorts of weird electrical problems. In my case, after replacing both batteries and having the charging system tested, everything went back to normal. It was a fairly straightforward fix, just had to make sure the new batteries were properly coded to the car's computer system. Just to be safe, have them check the alternator too, mine was tested and was fine, but it's worth checking since it's all connected. The whole thing wasn't a major repair, but definitely not something you want to ignore since it can leave you stranded. Hope this helps!
