Thanks for sharing your experience! My mileage is currently at 35759 KM and I just had my last service done about two months ago. Never had any electrical issues before this started happening. The battery sensor issue you mentioned sounds interesting, definitely worth checking out. I'll probably take it to the dealership to be on the safe side. Just hoping it won't turn into a major repair bill!

Oh hey again! Following up on our earlier chat about your BMW X2's battery issues, I totally get your concern about the repair costs. When I had my X3 checked, I was also worried it would be super expensive, but the battery sensor replacement actually turned out to be pretty reasonable compared to what I was expecting. Quick tip from my experience, since you mentioned your recent service was just two months ago, definitely bring that up at the dealership. Sometimes these issues can be related to work that was done during routine maintenance. When my sensor was acting up, I learned that even small things like not properly reconnecting electrical components after service can trigger these symptoms. Also, your mileage is pretty similar to what mine was when I had the problem (I was around 38000 KM). That's actually a common point for these sensor issues to pop up in BMWs. Since you've never had electrical issues before, it's even more likely that it's the sensor rather than a major electrical problem. Keep me posted on what the dealership says, curious to know if you're dealing with the same sensor issue I had. These BMW electrical quirks can be annoying, but they're usually pretty straightforward to fix once you pinpoint the problem!

Thanks so much for all the detailed info! Just got back from the dealership and you were spot on, it was indeed the battery sensor! They found it wasn't communicating properly with the car's system. The repair cost was actually pretty close to what you paid, around €340. Really glad I mentioned my recent service too, as they did find a loose connection from the maintenance work that was contributing to the problem. Can't tell you how relieved I am that it wasn't something more serious. Appreciate you sharing your experience, helped me feel a lot more confident about what to expect when I took it in. Car's running perfectly now, starting up strong with no more error messages. Guess our BMWs really do have similar quirks! Thanks again for all your help!

Hey! I've got some experience working on cars, and I actually had a pretty similar issue with my 2019 BMW X3 last year. After dealing with the exact same symptoms, dead battery, dim lights, and dashboard going crazy, I took it to my regular workshop. Turns out it wasn't the battery itself, but a faulty battery sensor that wasn't reading the charge levels correctly. The fix cost me around 315 Euro, and since then, everything's been working perfectly. Just to help you better, what's your current mileage, and have you noticed any other electrical issues before this started? Also, when was the last time you had your battery checked? These details would help figure out if you're dealing with the same problem I had with my X3. P.S. If you're thinking of fixing it yourself, I'd honestly recommend getting it checked by a pro since BMW's electrical systems can be pretty tricky to diagnose correctly.
