Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! This definitely sounds similar to what I've been dealing with. Glad to hear you got it sorted out with the sensor connection and fuel line replacement. Just curious, do you remember roughly how much the whole repair set you back? Also, have you had any other fuel system issues pop up since getting it fixed? I'm planning to take mine in soon, just trying to get an idea of what I might be looking at cost-wise. Really appreciate the help!

Hey again! Since my last message, I actually took my X3 to a different mechanic who properly diagnosed and fixed the issue. Turned out it really was the fuel pressure regulator that was defective, just like you suspected might be the case with yours. Got that sorted and also had them clear the error code that was left over from the fuel filter change, total came to 45€ for that part. Haven't had a single fuel system issue since then, car's running like a dream! No more rough idling, stalling, or any of those annoying symptoms we discussed. It's amazing what a proper diagnosis and fix can do. Before the fix, I was worried it might be something major, but it turned out to be relatively straightforward. If your symptoms are similar to what mine were, hopefully you'll be looking at a comparable repair cost. Just make sure you find a mechanic who really knows BMWs, it makes all the difference. Let me know how it goes when you get yours checked out!

Thanks for the follow-up! Just wanted to update you on my situation. Finally got my X2 looked at by a new mechanic, and what a difference! Found a really knowledgeable guy who actually took the time to properly diagnose the issue. Turned out to be a combination of problems, worn-out spark plugs and a faulty ignition coil, not the fuel pressure regulator after all. The repair cost was higher than expected, but honestly, it was worth every penny. The car's running better than it has in months. The mechanic also gave me some solid maintenance tips to prevent similar issues in the future. Can't believe I waited so long to get it fixed! Thanks again for encouraging me to get it checked out sooner rather than later. Really helped me take that step to find a better mechanic. No more strange noises or check engine lights! Lesson learned, sometimes it's worth spending a bit more for quality service.

Hey there! I experienced similar issues with my 2020 BMW X3 last year after changing the fuel filter. The symptoms you're describing match what I went through, rough idle, stalling, and that dreaded check engine light. Turned out the fuel pressure sensor wasn't properly connected after the filter change, and there was also a small tear in one of the fuel lines that was causing pressure irregularities. It wasn't a major repair, but definitely needed immediate attention to prevent potential fuel system damage. The mechanic had to reconnect the sensor properly, replace the damaged fuel line, and reset the ECU. The car's been running smoothly since then. These symptoms don't always point to the fuel pressure regulator, could be several components in the fuel delivery system. My advice: Get it checked soon. These issues typically don't resolve themselves and could lead to bigger problems if left unchecked. Best of luck with the repairs.
