BMW X2 Parking Assist Failure: Beeping Nightmare

Thanks for sharing your experience! My X2 just hit 143977 KM and had its last service two months ago. The beeping issue actually started right after a heavy rain. The error code I'm getting is PDC0023, but honestly, I haven't had a chance to properly diagnose it yet. Your wiring harness fix sounds promising and much cheaper than what I was worried about. I'll definitely get it checked out at my regular mechanic and have them look specifically at the connections. Really hoping it's just a simple wiring issue like yours was!

Hey again! Thanks for providing those extra details about your X2. That's really interesting that it started after heavy rain, sounds exactly like what happened with my X1! When I had the issue, it also began after some bad weather, which actually helps confirm my initial suspicion about the wiring. The error code PDC0023 is very similar to what I had too. In my case, the water had gotten into the connector and caused some corrosion, which is why the connection was getting spotty. The thing with these parking sensors is that they're pretty exposed to the elements, especially in the rear bumper. Since you mentioned your car just had a service, it might be worth checking if anything got disturbed during that work. Sometimes these issues can pop up if the bumper was removed or worked around during maintenance. Just a heads up, when my mechanic fixed it, they also applied some dielectric grease to the new connector to help prevent future water damage. You might want to ask your mechanic to do the same. It's a small extra step but totally worth it to prevent this from happening again. Keep us posted on what your mechanic finds! I'm really curious to know if it's the same issue as mine.

Thanks so much for all that detailed info! You've honestly made me feel a lot better about this whole situation. The fact that your issue also started after rain and had similar symptoms makes total sense. I just called my mechanic and managed to get an appointment for next week. I specifically mentioned the wiring harness and the possibility of water damage, and he seemed to think that was a likely culprit. I'll definitely ask about the dielectric grease too, that's a great tip I wouldn't have known about otherwise. It's such a relief to know this might just be a straightforward fix rather than some major sensor replacement. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience in such detail. I'll update the thread once I get it sorted out so others with similar issues can benefit too.

Hey there! I had a similar problem with my 2019 BMW X1 last year. I've got some experience working on cars, but mostly basic maintenance stuff. The exact same thing happened, constant beeping and parking sensors going crazy. Took it to my regular workshop, and it turned out to be a loose connection in the wiring harness for the parking sensors. The mechanic found a damaged plug that was causing intermittent connection issues. Total repair cost was 95 Euro, mainly labor since they just had to replace a connector and secure the wiring properly. Could you share more details about your X2? Like when did this start happening, and did you notice any pattern (like after car washes or during rainy weather)? Also, what error code are you getting? This might help pinpoint if it's the same issue I had.
