Hey! Thanks for sharing your experience. My X3 currently sits at 195,451 KM and had its last major service about 4 months ago. The symptoms started about two weeks back, right after a cold snap. Getting error code "Vehicle height adjustment malfunction" on the dash. Your experience sounds spot-on with what I'm dealing with. Good to know about the repair cost, was worried it might be way higher. Really helpful to hear from someone who's been through this. Might just bite the bullet and take it to the shop this week before it gets worse.

Hey again! Thanks for providing those details about your X3. Yeah, the symptoms and error code you're getting are exactly what I experienced with my X5. That cold snap you mentioned actually makes a lot of sense, temperature changes can really mess with air suspension systems, and that's probably what triggered the valve failure. Given your mileage (mine was around 180,000 KM when it happened), and the fact that it started after the cold weather, I'm even more convinced it's the same issue I had. When my valve went bad, it started exactly like yours, subtle at first, then got progressively worse over a couple of weeks. Quick tip from my experience, don't wait too long to get it fixed. I made that mistake and tried driving it for a while, which ended up causing extra wear on other suspension components. The 590 Euro I mentioned earlier could have been less if I'd acted sooner. Since you're planning to take it in this week, make sure to mention the cold weather correlation to your mechanic. In my case, that helped them diagnose the problem faster. After the repair, I'd recommend keeping an eye on the system for a few days, mine took about 2-3 days to fully "settle in" after the fix. Let me know how it goes after you get it checked out. Always curious to hear if others have the same experience I did with these BMW air suspension issues.

Thanks a lot for the detailed follow-up! You've really helped put my mind at ease about this whole situation. The similarities between our cases are striking, and it's reassuring to know this is a fixable issue. I've actually just booked an appointment at the shop for tomorrow morning, didn't want to risk making things worse like you mentioned. Will definitely bring up the cold weather connection to the mechanic. From what you've shared, seems like I caught it early enough before it could cause any additional damage. The price point you mentioned is actually better than I was expecting, had been bracing myself for a much bigger hit to the wallet! Really appreciate the heads-up about the settling period too. Will definitely keep an eye on things for those first few days after the repair. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience, it's been super helpful in understanding what I'm dealing with. I'll be sure to update once I get everything sorted out.

Hey there! I can relate, had a very similar issue with my 2017 BMW X5 last year. I'm fairly new to car maintenance (low experience), but this problem was quite noticeable and concerning. My X5 was showing the same symptoms, uneven ride height, rough suspension, and those annoying warning lights. After the suspension completely failed to level the car one morning, I took it to my trusted workshop. Turned out the air suspension valve was totally shot, which was causing the system to malfunction. The fix involved replacing the defective valve and recalibrating the suspension system. Total cost was around 590 Euro, parts and labor included. Since then, it's been working perfectly, smooth ride and proper leveling. Before I can give more specific advice, could you share: Current mileage on your X3? When did you first notice the symptoms? Are you getting any specific error codes? This info would help determine if you're dealing with exactly the same issue I had.
