Thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful since I'm dealing with such similar symptoms. Sounds like it wasn't as complex as I feared. Would you mind telling me how much you ended up paying for the repair? Also, curious if you've had any other climate control problems since getting it fixed?

Hey again! Happy to update you! Yeah, I was spot on about those symptoms, it did end up being the interior temp sensor after all. The mechanic found that the cable connection to the sensor was acting up, which was causing all those annoying error messages and control issues. The fix was pretty straightforward and cost me 95€, way less than I was worried it might be! And I've gotta tell you, since getting it sorted, my climate control system's been working like a charm. Not a single problem or error message in sight. The AC kicks in perfectly now, and the temperature controls respond just like they should. It's such a relief when these things turn out to be simpler than you expect, right? Really glad I could help out with my experience. Sometimes these BMW electrical gremlins can seem scary, but they're often just basic connection issues that need sorting. Let me know how yours turns out!

Thanks so much for all the info! Just wanted to update you on what happened with my X4. Finally got it checked out yesterday at a mechanic who specializes in BMW systems. Turned out to be a blown fuse and some corroded wiring, pretty basic stuff, thankfully! The whole repair only took about three hours and cost me around 150 bucks, which was such a relief. Was totally preparing myself for a much bigger bill. The mechanic was super thorough and even showed me exactly what was causing the problem. Everything's working perfectly now, the AC's blowing cold, temperature controls are responsive, and those annoying error messages are gone. You were right about not needing to worry too much. Should've gotten it checked sooner instead of stressing about it! Really appreciate your help in pushing me to get it sorted. Next time I won't wait so long to deal with these kinds of issues! Thanks again for all your advice!

Hey there! I ran into a similar issue with my 2014 BMW X3 last summer. The symptoms were nearly identical, unresponsive climate controls and error messages. I thought it was the temp sensor too, but it turned out to be a faulty cable connection at the control module. Took it to the garage where they diagnosed a damaged wiring harness that was causing poor connectivity to the climate control unit. It wasn't a major mechanical issue, but it needed proper BMW diagnostic equipment to pinpoint the exact problem. The repair involved replacing the wiring harness and recalibrating the system. The whole thing took about half a day to fix. Not a super serious issue, but definitely something that needed professional attention. Make sure wherever you take it has experience with BMW electrical systems, the diagnostics are pretty specific to the brand. Hope this helps with your X4 situation. Best of luck
