Thanks for sharing your experience! It's really helpful to hear from someone who's dealt with this. My X6 just hit 87456 KM after the latest service, and I'm seeing these exact same symptoms. The issues actually started gradually over the past week. At first, just the temperature display was acting wonky, then everything else followed. And yes, I've noticed my power windows are a bit sluggish too. No heavy rain driving recently though. I'll definitely get those wiring connections checked out. It sounds like it could be a similar issue, especially since the symptoms match up so well. Would you mind sharing which specific connectors they ended up replacing in your case? Just want to give my mechanic a heads-up when I take it in.

Hey again! Thanks for those extra details about your X6. It's interesting that you mentioned the sluggish power windows because that's exactly what tipped off my mechanic about the electrical connection issue in my X5. In my case, they ended up replacing the main wiring harness connector near the temperature sensor (part number was something like 61-35-6-937-xxx) and two smaller connectors. The corrosion had spread further than initially thought. They also found that moisture had gotten into the main connector housing, which explained why multiple systems were affected. Since you're experiencing a gradual onset like I did, and with those additional electrical symptoms, I'm even more convinced it's the same issue I faced. The sluggish windows are definitely a red flag, that's the electrical system struggling. Just a heads up, when they fixed mine, they had to run a full diagnostic reset afterward to clear all the error codes. Make sure your mechanic does that too, otherwise some systems might still act up even after the repair. Quick tip from my experience: while you're waiting to get it fixed, try not to mess with the AC controls too much. In my case, constantly adjusting them seemed to make the system more confused and threw up additional error codes that weren't actually related to the main problem. Let me know how it goes when you get it checked out. I'm curious if it turns out to be the same issue!

Thanks so much for all this detailed information! This is exactly what I needed. The part number and your specific experience with the connectors will be super helpful when I talk to my mechanic tomorrow. It's actually a relief to know it might not be something more serious or expensive. I'll definitely follow your advice about not messing with the AC controls too much until it's fixed. Those sluggish windows have been driving me crazy, but at least now I understand why they're acting up. Good to know about the diagnostic reset too, I'll make sure to mention that to the mechanic. Really appreciate you taking the time to explain everything, especially the details about what your mechanic found with the moisture and corrosion. I'll update the forum once I get it sorted out, just in case someone else runs into the same problem with their BMW. Thanks again for walking me through your experience, it's made me feel a lot more confident about getting this fixed!

Hey there! I have some experience working on BMWs. Had a similar issue with my 2013 BMW X5, and my owns an X3. I totally get your frustration. My car showed almost identical symptoms, temp display wasn't working, AC went crazy, and heating functions were acting up. Turned out it was a faulty wiring connection to the temperature sensor. I took it to my regular workshop, and they diagnosed it pretty quickly. They had to replace some corroded cables and a connector. The whole thing cost me 95 Euro and fixed all those issues at once. Before I share more specific details about what exactly they did, could you share: Have you noticed any other electrical issues? Did these problems start suddenly or gradually? Did you recently drive through heavy rain or deep puddles? This info would help determine if you're dealing with the same problem I had.
