BMW X7 Emergency Call System Throwing Multiple Errors

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2021 BMW X5 last year. I have some experience working on cars, but this was definitely something I needed professional help with. When I got those emergency call system errors on my dash, it was super annoying! After checking at the workshop, they found a loose connection in one of the emergency call system cables. The technician had to remove some trim pieces to access and fix the faulty connection. Total repair cost was 95 Euro, and it solved the problem completely. I'd need to know a few things about your X7 to help further: Did this start happening suddenly or gradually? Are you getting any specific error codes? Have you had any recent work done on the car? It could be the same issue as my X5, but BMWs can be tricky, better to get all the details first. Let me know and I'll try to point you in the right direction!

Thanks for sharing your experience! I'm dealing with those annoying emergency call errors too in my X7 (145443 KM). The issue started suddenly last week after my regular service. No recent work other than that standard maintenance. The error messages come and go out of nowhere, sometimes they'll disappear for a few hours, then pop back up again. I've noticed it happens more often when starting the car. Haven't pulled any specific error codes yet, but I'm planning to get it scanned soon. Your cable connection issue sounds similar to what I might be experiencing. Good to know it was a relatively simple fix in your case. I'll definitely get it checked out at the workshop. Really appreciate the detailed feedback about the repair process!

Hey again! Thanks for the additional details about your X7. You know what, this sounds EXACTLY like what I dealt with on my X5! The timing of it starting after your service really rings a bell, in my case, I'm pretty sure the cable got knocked loose during routine maintenance work. I totally get what you mean about those unusual error messages, it drove me crazy when mine would disappear and then pop up again! The fact that it happens more when starting the car is another similarity to what I experienced. Quick heads up though, even though my fix was pretty straightforward, I've heard from other BMW owners that sometimes these emergency call system issues can be related to the control module itself. Since you mentioned you're at 145443 KM, it might be worth having them check that too while they're in there. You're doing the right thing getting it scanned. When they checked mine, it helped pinpoint the exact location of the loose connection. Just make sure to mention to them that it started right after the service, might help them track down the issue faster. Let me know what they find! Always interested to hear if it turns out to be the same problem I had. Keep us posted!

Thanks so much for the detailed follow-up! Really helpful to hear about the potential connection to the routine maintenance, makes total sense that something might have been knocked loose during the service. I hadn't thought about checking the control module, so that's a great tip. I've actually just booked it in for next week, and I'll definitely mention both the service timing and the issues with startup that you experienced. Having this information makes me feel much better prepared for the workshop visit. I was worried it might be something major, but hearing about your experience has put my mind at ease a bit. I'll make sure to update the thread once I get it sorted, might help other BMW owners dealing with similar emergency call system problems. Really appreciate you taking the time to share all this detailed info. It's exactly the kind of first-hand experience I was hoping to find when I posted my question!
