BMW X7 Navigation Dead, Transport Mode Causing Issues?

Hey everyone! Having trouble with my 2022 BMW X7 (gas). The navigation system is completely dead and I'm getting general electrical malfunction warnings. I suspect it might be related to Transport Mode being active. Has anyone dealt with similar electrical issues and had them fixed? Would really appreciate hearing about your repair experiences and what the actual problem turned out to be. Thanks in advance!

Hey there! I have some experience with BMW electronics from owning a 2020 BMW X5 (also had an X3 before). Sounds pretty similar to what I faced last year. The system went completely dark and threw those same electrical warnings. My car was still under warranty, so the dealership service center sorted it out at no cost. Turned out it was indeed the Transport Mode that hadn't been properly deactivated during the initial delivery prep. They had to do a complete system reset and proper deactivation of Transport Mode. Took them about an hour, and everything's been working perfectly since. Could you share some more details about when this started happening? Did it occur suddenly or was it gradual? Also, when was the last time you had any dealer service done? This might help figure out if we're dealing with the same issue.

Thanks for your input! I just had my 40,000 KM service a month ago, and everything was fine until yesterday when it suddenly went dark. Never had any electrical issues before this. The weird thing is, it happened right after I used the auto-park feature. Given my mileage is now at 41416 KM, I'm thinking I should probably take it to the dealership while it's still under warranty, especially after hearing about your experience. Did you notice any patterns with specific features before your system crashed?

Hey again! Yes, I totally know what you mean about it happening after using a specific feature. In my case, it actually happened right after using the 360-degree camera system, which I guess is somewhat similar to your auto-park situation since they both use multiple electrical systems at once. Given what you're describing, it's sounding even more like what I experienced. The sudden shutdown after using a complex feature is pretty typical when there's an underlying electrical system issue. The timing after your service is interesting though, that's different from my situation. But honestly, with these advanced systems, it could be related to something that got triggered during the service. Since you're still under warranty like I was, definitely get it to the dealer ASAP. Mine started acting up more frequently when I waited a few days before bringing it in. Initially, it would come back on after a restart, but then it got worse. Quick tip: document everything with photos and videos if you can, especially if it happens again before you get to the dealer. I did this and it really helped them diagnose it faster than my case. Keep us posted on what they find!

Thanks everyone for the helpful responses! I took your advice and recorded a video of the issue last night when it happened again. Already called the dealership and booked an appointment for tomorrow morning. You're right about not waiting, it's definitely getting more frequent. This morning it happened twice, both times after using any of the advanced features. The service advisor seemed pretty familiar with the issue when I described it, especially the part about it occurring after using the auto-park feature. They mentioned they'll check the Transport Mode first, along with running a full diagnostic on the electrical system. Really hoping it's as straightforward as your case was and can be fixed with a system reset. Thanks again for sharing your experiences, it's been really reassuring to know I'm not the only one who's dealt with this. Will update you all once I hear back from the dealer about what they find!
