Thanks for sharing your experience! That's exactly what I'm dealing with. My symptoms are spot on with what you described. I'm actually relieved to hear I'm not alone with this issue. Quick question, do you remember roughly how much the repair set you back? Also, has everything been working smoothly since the fix? Just want to get an idea of what I'm looking at cost-wise and if it's truly solved the problem.

Hey again! Just wanted to give you a quick update since you asked. After getting my car fixed, all those annoying door lock problems completely disappeared. The mechanic found that it was actually just a faulty cable connection, way simpler than what I had with my previous door lock drama I told you about earlier. The repair was surprisingly quick and much cheaper than I expected, only 95 € to fix that cable connection. Nothing like the more complex harness replacement I needed last time! Everything's been working like a charm since then, no more unusual error messages, the central locking works perfectly, and that irritating door-open warning is finally gone. Honestly, I'm just glad it turned out to be such a simple fix. If your symptoms are similar to what I had, you might get lucky with a similar straightforward repair. Just make sure they do a proper check of all the connections first before replacing any major parts. Sometimes it's these little things that cause the biggest headaches!

Thanks so much for the follow-up! I actually just got back from the mechanic today. You were spot on about getting it checked quickly. Took your advice and found a reputable shop that specializes in BMW electrical issues. Funny enough, my problem was a mix of both scenarios you mentioned. Had a loose connection like your recent fix, but also needed a new door sensor. The mechanic was really thorough and showed me exactly what was wrong. The whole thing took about three hours to fix, and while it cost more than your recent repair, it was still way less than I'd feared. The best part? Everything's working perfectly now. No more unusual error messages, and the central locking is as smooth as when I first got the car. The auto-lock while driving works again too. Really glad I didn't put this off any longer. Thanks again for sharing your experience, it really helped me make the decision to get it sorted sooner rather than later. Now I can finally drive without that annoying door warning light staring at me!

Hey there! Had a similar issue with my 2015 BMW M235i last month. The door lock symptoms match exactly what I experienced, unusual error messages, central locking going crazy, and that annoying door-open warning that wouldn't go away. Turned out it wasn't just the door contact sensor. The wiring harness in the door hinge area had some damaged cables due to constant movement. The insulation was worn, causing intermittent electrical contact. The mechanic found some corroded connectors too. The repair involved replacing the wire harness and the door lock actuator. It wasn't a quick fix, they had to disassemble part of the door panel to access everything. Not the most serious repair I've had done, but definitely needed proper attention to avoid bigger electrical issues down the line. My suggestion, get it checked soon. These electrical gremlins tend to get worse and can affect other systems. Just make sure they do a proper diagnostic first before replacing parts.
