Bolt AC system fault
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Chevrolet Bolt is experiencing an air conditioning system fault where the A/C does not activate or cool. Potential causes include undervoltage, issues with the AC relay, pressure sensor, or a refrigerant leak. It is suggested to check for a clicking sound from the compressor to determine if it is attempting to engage. Ultimately, a professional diagnosis at a workshop is recommended to identify and resolve the issue.

Thank you for the suggestions. I will look into the relay and pressure sensor. How can I determine if the compressor is attempting to engage?

You'd usually hear a click when the compressor tries to start. If it's totally silent, that's a bad sign. honestly, it sounds like you might be chasing ghosts. I ended up taking mine to a shop, and after checking all those bits and bobs, it turned out to be just low refrigerant pressure due to a tiny leak. Cost me 240€ to fix, so not the end of the world, but still annoying!

I appreciate the follow-up. I'll take it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Ugh, the A/C in these Bolts can be a real pain. I had something similar happen with mine. Stopped blowing cold air out of nowhere. Did you check the simple stuff first, like the AC relay or maybe the pressure sensor? Could be a refrigerant leak too, unfortunately. Is the compressor even trying to kick on?
