Bolt weak battery and flickering lights
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Chevrolet Bolt owner experienced weak battery performance and flickering lights, suspecting a failing battery sensor as the cause. Despite the battery voltage being within an acceptable range, inconsistent sensor readings suggested faulty data transmission to the car's computer. The recommended solution was to replace the battery sensor, which successfully resolved the issues.

Regarding your question about the battery voltage, I have indeed performed a diagnostic check. The voltage appears to be within the acceptable range; however, the sensor readings are inconsistent. Therefore, could these fluctuating sensor readings send faulty data to the car's computer and cause such symptoms, even with acceptable voltage?

Okay, inconsistent sensor readings with seemingly good voltage? That’s like having a healthy heart but a wonky EKG. It does sound like the sensor is throwing a wrench in the works. I'd advise taking your Bolt to a qualified workshop for a proper diagnosis. Replacing that sensor is probably the best course of action.

Based on your recommendation and further consultation, I proceeded with replacing the battery sensor at a cost of 315€. The symptoms have indeed resolved, confirming the diagnosis. Thank you for your time and assistance.

Whoa, flickering lights and a weak start? Sounds like your Bolt's battery is gasping for air! Kinda like when your phone battery dips below 5% and everything goes haywire. But a sensor causing all that? I'm a bit skeptical. Have you checked the battery voltage? Is it holding a charge?
