Boxer door lock failure

I'm having trouble with my 2020 Peugeot Boxer electric with 198197 km on the clock. The doors won't lock or unlock. Diagnostics point to a faulty door contact signal. Could a defective cable or plug connection be the cause?

I have a Boxer too, though I'm unsure of the year. I had a similar issue recently. The automatic locks went haywire, and the car alarm acted up. Does your car alarm go off unexpectedly? The door latch was the culprit for me. It's like a chain reaction; one faulty component messes everything up.

Thanks for the reply. No, my car alarm doesn't go off unexpectedly. Could you explain the root cause in more detail? Was the problem really the door latch? Was it purely a contact signal issue? I want to check this before visiting a workshop.

Yes, the door latch was the root cause. The contact signal wasn't transmitted properly because of a defective cable or plug connection, as you suspected. It's like a short circuit; the current can't flow correctly. I ended up replacing the latch at a workshop. Given your symptoms, I'd recommend a workshop visit too.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion. The problem was indeed a defective cable or plug connection on the door latch. I had it repaired for 95€, I appreciate the help.
