Boxer Electric Steering Column Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Peugeot Boxer with a gasoline engine is experiencing a non-functional electric steering column adjustment, with stored error codes indicating a fault. The initial suspicion is a faulty wire or plug. Suggestions include checking the fuse and connections, but ultimately, a visit to a garage reveals the issue as a corroded plug, which is resolved with replacement and cleaning.

I had a quick look at the fuses, seemed fine, but I'm no expert. Where exactly are all the connections for the steering column adjustment? I don't want to start yanking things apart without knowing what I'm doing!

If the fuses are okay and you're not comfortable tracing wires, honestly, I'd get it to a workshop. Could be a faulty motor in the column itself, or something more complicated. Better safe than sorry with steering!

Cheers for the advice! Took it to a local garage in the end. You were spot on – turned out to be a corroded plug, just like I guessed initially. New plug and a bit of cleaning, 95€ all in. Sorted!

Electric steering columns can be a pain. You say 'dodgy wire' - have you actually checked the connections yourself? Before tearing things apart, make sure the fuse for the steering column adjustment is still good. Worth a look, right?
