Boxer immobilizer issue

Alright, gurus, my 2000 Peugeot Boxer with a gasoline engine is being a right pain. The engine refuses to start, or sometimes it starts for a split second and then dies immediately. Of course, there's an error stored in the memory, isn't there always? Suspect it's the immobilizer giving me grief, possibly incorrect key programming. Anyone seen this before? What a nightmare!

I had a similar issue with my Peugeot Boxer a while back. Does the security light stay on, or is it flashing? Could be a fault with the car electronics. I'm no expert, but did you try the spare key to rule out the key itself being the issue?

Good shout on the spare key, I did try it, but no luck. Security light is acting weird, sometimes on, sometimes flashing like crazy. So, if it's the electronics, what am I looking at here? An immobilizer bypass?

Right, if the spare key didn't work and the security light's going haywire, it does sound like the immobilizer. Honestly, I wouldn't attempt an immobilizer bypass yourself. I ended up taking mine to a workshop; they sorted it out quickly. Might be worth getting it checked professionally to avoid further issues.

Cheers for the advice! Took it to a local auto-electrician, and you were spot on: turns out the key programming was indeed borked. A quick reprogramming set me back only 45€, and now she's purring like a kitten again. Appreciate the help!
