Boxer outside temperature sensor issues

My 2002 Peugeot Boxer with a gasoline engine is showing an error for the outside temperature sensor, and the AC won't turn on. The spray nozzles were frozen solid the other day, even though it wasn't THAT cold, and the mirror heating isn't working either. I've checked the fuses, but they seem fine. Could it really be just the temperature sensor causing all this?

Sounds familiar! I had similar problems with my Boxer a while back. That temperature sensor can cause havoc with all sorts of systems. It's worth checking the wiring and the plug connection to the sensor itself. Could be a corroded or loose connection. I'd start there before suspecting the sensor.

Thanks! Where exactly is the temperature sensor located on the Boxer? And is it easy to get to? I'm not a mechanic, but I'm willing to have a look myself if it's straightforward.

From what you describe, it does indeed sound like a defective cable or plug connection. As for the location, I remember having a lot of trouble finding the sensor, and it might be difficult to reach even when you know where it is. I would strongly advise you to have the sensor checked at a workshop; from what I remember it cost me around 95€.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I'll take it to a workshop and mention the cable/plug connection. Hopefully, it's something simple and doesn't cost me too much. I will report back the outcome!
